Preliminary balances.
These figures come from the historical UTXO set at block height
680000 before illicit-coin removal and
exchange disposition (pre-sanitization UTXO @ height 680000 (unsanitized snapshot)).
They are shown so holders can use the query tool while cleanup completes.
Do not treat them as final relaunch balances.
See
Guiding Principles.
Bitcoin Private relaunch — high-level plan
This page summarizes the public workstreams for restoring Bitcoin Private on a modern
Zebra-based stack with a cleaned transparent UTXO set. Detail will grow over time;
forensic internals and private operational notes are intentionally omitted.
How the workstreams fit together
The relaunch is not a single repository. Clean genesis balances (W1) feed the new
Rust node (W9). Holders then verify (W2) and spend (W3 / W4). Docs and the official
site (W7 / W8) publish the story. Governance, stakeholder outreach and DEX work
(W5 / W6 / W10) run alongside without blocking a minimum viable relaunch.

W10 DEX interoperability
Critical path: W1 → W9 → W2 + W3/W4 → W7/W8.
W5, W6 and W10 run in parallel and must not block genesis correctness.
Critical path
W1 (final clean UTXO + genesis allocations) feeds the new node and its chain
parameters (W9), which unlocks holder verification (W2),
wallet spend/recovery (W3), and light/Electrum surfaces (W4).
Documentation and the official site (W7 / W8) carry the public narrative.
Governance research, stakeholder outreach and DEX interoperability
((W5 / W6 / W10) run in parallel without blocking genesis correctness.
W1 — Final UTXO + genesis allocations in progress
- Produce a genesis-ready transparent UTXO after surgical removal of illicit proceeds and Great Coinburn candidates.
- Define the genesis allocations: treasury, a redemption fund for balances held at defunct exchanges, and a contingency reserve (see the Guiding Principles).
- Hand the frozen UTXO file and its signed genesis total to the new node (W9) for the genesis overlay and emission schedule.
W2 — Online balance query (this site) building
- Address balance checks. Initially the unsanitized UTXO at block height 680,000, then the clean genesis UTXO once it's ready.
- Holder-facing principles, timeline and roadmap pages (interim public surface until W8).
- Goes live with authoritative data once W1 is frozen and ingested.
W3 — Wallet planning
- Zebra-era desktop wallet adapted for BTCP (BIP-39 / coin type 183,
b1/bx).
- Seed import and recovery for legacy holders once the node testnet exists. DEX work is tracked separately as W10.
W4 — Light / Electrum & multi-wallet surface planned
- Server/node surface so Electrum-style and third-party wallets can integrate.
- Depends on the new node's (W9) stable RPC/light protocols and final network identity.
W5 — Governance exploration research
- Study whether holder governance can coexist with PoW (transparent signed ballots; optional later enhancements).
- Does not block relaunch consensus work.
W6 — Stakeholder outreach database parallel
- Organize community, documentation and email channels for outreach and exchange conversations.
- Historical community archives have already informed exchange disposition work; a structured outreach DB is still to be built.
W7 — Documentation ongoing
- Public-facing history, node/wallet docs, and relaunch communications as products stabilize.
W8 — Official rebranded website future
- Public face of the project; will link or embed holder tools such as the balance check.
W9 — Node + chain parameters in progress
- Rust full node forked from Zcash Foundation Zebra, carrying BTCP network identity, Equihash (192,7) proof-of-work, block time, emission schedule and the genesis overlay from W1.
- Many parameters are already locked (21M cap, Equihash 192,7, address formats, network magic/ports). Few remaining parameter choices pending, such as block time/retarget and emission schedule, which waits on the W1 genesis total.
- A testnet from this workstream unblocks the wallet, this balance tool and the light/Electrum surfaces.
W10 — DEX interoperability future
- Path toward non-custodial swap venues (THORChain/THORSwap-class) so holders can trade without relying on defunct centralized exchanges.
- Starts after the node (W9), wallet (W3) and node surface (W4) exist.
What this means for holders & exchanges
Currently balances shown here reflect the unsanitized UTXO and block height 680,000, not necessarily a live
post-launch mempool tip. Until W1 is marked final, the figures produced by the balance query tool are purely demonstrative of the state of the tainted UTXO.
Once the finalized UTXO is published, exchanges and integrators can use this roadmap to track readiness: clean UTXO (W1) →
node + chain parameters (W9) → holder verification (W2) → wallet/light stack (W3/W4) →
public site (W8).
For the major policy choices behind the cleaned UTXO (including how operational vs
defunct exchanges are treated), see
Sanitized UTXO Guiding Principles.
